Here at FastNewSmile® Dental Implant Center in Dallas, Texas, we use the highest grade of technology when it comes to our 3D CT Scan machine. The iCAT allows us to take a 3D scan of the patient’s cranium and allows us to see the bone quality in the patient’s zygoma and their upper and lower jaw. When patients come in for a consultation they meet with Dr. Almasri and get to view their x-ray and see where Dr. Almasri plans on placing the implants. The x-ray image allows Dr. Almasri to see the bone quality and quantity of the patient. At this time, he is able to determine what length and size of the teeth implants to place and where to place them. The 3D image allows Dr. Almasri to see a cross section of the bone and the tooth which permits him to accurately see everything that is necessary to plan and execute the patient’s surgery with the utmost precision. With the ability to see the entire cranium, if a patient’s bone is dense in the upper jaw, we are able to see the zygomatic bone and plan the surgery for zygomatic implants accordingly. The x-ray image also allows Dr. Almasri to dictate whether or not a patient has any infections, needs a sinus augmentation, any bone grafting or membrane. Because of the advanced technology, Dr. Almasri can completely plan a patient’s surgery right in front of their eyes.
